The Annual Auction for Excellence has become the Sid Jacobson JCC's major fundraiser that benefits our social service programming for the JCC and our greater community. In recent years we created the Sheldon A. Sinett BASICS Fund (Building and Supporting Initial Community Social Service Programs). This ongoing funding source has been instrumental in establishing and maintaining critical community social service programs. Each year it becomes more difficult to raise funds for existing programs and underwrite new ones that are so desperately needed for our community. Now, with your help, we can! Please help us insure the growth of some of our critical programs and services now being offered:
Let's Do Lunch™
A one of a kind program, in the Let's Do...Series™,
designed for individuals in their 30s, 40s and 50s who have been diagnosed
with Alzheimer's disease or other forms of dementia. Newly added
are support services for well spouses and children of participants.
Kehilla Vocation Experience
A summer program for young adults
ages 17 - 21 with special needs, which combines vocational placement
with summer socialization.
Friendly Visiting
A professionally supervised program that allows volunteers to visit homebound elderly, assist with accessing needed services and relieve loneliness.
Children's Staircase
A program to provide related services (speech,
language, physical, play, occupational and vision therapies) to
children 3-5 years of age.
Strength to Strength
A program to enhance the physical, emotional
and spiritual well-being of women recovering from breast cancer.
Therapeutic Modalities
Art, music, pet and drama therapies
for individuals with special needs including those on the
Autistic Spectrum.
Friendship Circle
A structured stimulating environment with personal attention that encourages cognitive and physical stimulation for those suffering from dementia, stroke and Parkinson's.
Youth Action
A mentoring program that provides socialization and academic assistance for low income at-risk students living in the Roslyn community.
And many more!
Please, help us continue to improve the lives of so many. At Sid Jacobson JCC, we are committed to enriching the lives of all the individuals and families in our community. No one is ever turned away for lack of financial ability. This year we will give out over $600,000 in financial aid. Thank you for your past support and continued commitment.
We get by with a little help from our friends. Be a friend.
